Bills CB McGee is done for the season

The Buffalo Bills cornerback Terrence McGee was scheduled to have surgery to repair his right rotator cuff Wednesday, three days after he was hurt in Sunday’s 17-10 loss to the New England Patriots. One day before the surgery, he was placed on the injured reserve, becoming the 16th Bills player placed on the season-ending list.

McGee was hurt early in the third quarter when he attempted to break up a pass to Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss. Leading with his right shoulder, McGee hit a leaping Moss in the hip as the receiver hung on for a 16-yard catch. And that’s not the end of the team’s injury woes as the Bills prepare to play at Atlanta this weekend.

As starting quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and backup Trent Edwards both hurt their ankles last weekend, the Bills suddenly found that they are unclear who’ll start at quarterback against the Falcons. Thus they decided to sign back veteran Gibran Hamdan, who is in his fifth year of wearing NFL jersey and was released by the Bills in November after spending the past three years with the team. Hamdan’s coming back provides the Bills another option other than untested second-year quarterback Brian Brohm for the job of starting quarterback.
