Seeming to prove his edge over Kerry Collins, Vince Young successfully brought a long expected win to the Tennessee Titans, also proved Coach Jeff Fisher to be wrong in insisting that Collins gave the team more chance to win.
Getting rid of 0 from record finally, now 1-6 Titans believe that Young is the very starting quarterback in Titans jersey for remaining nine games. Fans were right and Owner Bud Adams was right when they said that they preferred Young to Collins as the Titans starting quarterback before Sunday’s game and forced Fisher to change his mind to give the starting job to Young, in time before Collins might lead the team to the seventh loss of the season.
“We’ve got to find out how he’s developed over the last two years,” Adams said after the game. “He hasn’t played that much. We’ve got to get him in and find out what he can do. Otherwise we’re going to have a high draft choice, and we’re going to be looking for another quarterback.”
One win may be incidental, and now what Young needs to do is to play more games to show how much he’s really grown and whether he’s worth expectation.

Titans coach Fisher stick with using Collins as starting QB
While fans are calling on Facebook and Twitter for change, the Tennessee Coach Jeff Fisher did not think it necessary to switch starting job from veteran quarterback Kerry Collins to Vince Young.
Fisher said Monday the difference now is the Titans won 13 games with Collins in 2008, while they hadn’t won a game with Young when the switch was made in 2006.
“Kerry’s not the problem,” Fisher said. “Kerry’s making plays and putting the ball where it needs to be put. I’m not pleased with the interceptions, but other than that going back over the last few weeks, Kerry’s made some great throws. We just need to play better around him.”
Starting only one game in 2008 season, Young lost his starting job to Collins. Although Fisher has said that Young would be the franchise’s starter of the future, the coach had no plan to give him the job in near future. Fisher insists Collins is their best chance to win a game.
