The record of most expensive jersey was broken

While an authentic throwback Terry Bradshaw jersey is available under $200 everywhere and the real worn one’s price never grew up over $10,000, recently an auction for the jersey of Hockey Hall of Famer Paul Henderson broke records of all famous players’ jerseys. When the auction ended on Tuesday night, the jersey was sold at price $1.275 million.

Previously the record of most expensive hockey jersey was held by a game-worn jersey Bobby Orr wore during his rookie season at price $191,200, and the record of highest jersey price was held by the game-worn jersey of former New York Yankees Babe Ruth. Henderson’s jersey is even more expensive than the two jerseys together, and it was bought by one of Canada's richest men, who was reported to hold a net worth of over $1 billion.

Henderson himself was rather calm with another record he made with his worn jersey, saying that he would rather donate it to the Sports Hall of Fame. He was simply glad to know that the buyer planned to place the jersey in a public museum.
